How to Use Personalization Tags in Your Products
Personalization tags are a great way to personalize written content within your product's modules or lessons.
Currently, there are three personalization tags you can use within the written copy throughout your products. When used, these personalization tags will input user-specific data into your written copy.
The personalization tags available in MV are:
%FIRSTNAME% - will populate the user's first name
%EMAIL% - will populate the user's email address
%EP% - will populate the user's current # of EP (engagement points).
As an example, if you want to mention the user's name & email address in a sentence while also confirming their current # of EP, you would write the following in your text area:
"%FIRSTNAME%, thank you for subscribing to my product using your email address: %EMAIL%. As an update, you currently have %EP% EP."
The personalization tags will be replaced with the user's specific data - so your user would see:
"Katrina, thank you for subscribing to my product using your email address: firstname.lastname@example.org. As an update, you currently have 35 EP."
*NOTE* - When using personalization tags in areas that can be viewed by visitors or users who are not logged in (ie. your product description, product teaser message, module short description), the tags will not be replaced by the user-specific data because the system is unable to identify the visitor/user. In this case, the personalization tag will be replaced by an empty space.
