One of the main pillars of MemberVault is gamification!

The idea is simple - reward users who are the most engaged! The more engaged someone is, the more they will value your content and trust you as an authority in your area. And users who value & trust you... buy from you! 

Your users' engagement throughout your account and specific products is measured in EP (engagement points)

Although the ideas for 'gamifying' your users' experience are endless, there are three main areas in MV that you will want to focus your attention on:

1) Actions, Actions & more Actions!

By far, the best way to 'gamify' your account is to use MV's 'Actions' feature.

With numerous triggers available, there are a lot of different actions that you can set-up to reward & engage your users. 

For example, under User Actions, you could give access to a top-secret product when someone earns a specific # of EP in your overall account.

Or you could tag someone in your email service when they complete a specific product and use that tag to trigger an email that provides them with congratulations and perhaps a special offer to book a 1:1 call with you. 

There are just a couple of ideas to get your juices flowing. 🙂

2) Utilize Your Accounts Leaderboard

If you're old enough or nerdy enough to have played an arcade game, you are aware of how hard some people will work to get their initials on the leaderboard. The leaderboard taps into our natural competitive nature and works surprisingly well to motivate us. 

The MV leaderboard is visible to all users by default and will show the top 10 most engaged users of all time in your account and notes how many EP those users have. Users are only noted by first name to help protect confidentiality.  

The leaderboard acts as social proof that others are engaged with your content AND inspires the user to increase their specific # of EP. 

Since some users may not wish to be spotlighted or might have privacy concerns, every user is able to opt-out of the leaderboard by using the "Don't want to be listed?" option at the very bottom. 

It is also possible that you may not wish to use the leaderboard in your account due to the type of business and content you offer. In this case, you are welcome to turn the leaderboard off for your account under Settings > General.

3) Add Bonus Modules to Your Products

Bonus Modules allow you to release a module of content based on a user's overall engagement within the specific product. Only EP earned inside that product can unlock a bonus module.

We call this "Product EP" and the user can see how much they have simply by clicking into a product or by clicking on the Total # of EP button at the top of their account and reviewing the list of products. 

Bonus modules will remain greyed out (ie. unavailable) but the module button will tell the user how much Product EP they need to earn to unlock it. 








To add bonus modules to your product,  add or edit any module and change the type to "Bonus Module".  You'll then be able to add the # of EP required to unlock the module.

NOTE: Understand that the idea here is to reward people who are engaged to a certain amount, NOT rewarding if they get to a certain point.  You can check out the What is EP? article for exactly how EP is earned, but you can assume that users will get 2 EP for each lesson they open and complete.

When you go back to the list of modules, you'll see the bonus modules AND EP needed to unlock it.  These bonus modules will show up in the order you have them, so make sure to drag them to the position you want them in.  We personally love to sprinkle a few in throughout the product rather than noting them all at the end.
